Phlebotomy Training Program
Our Phlebotomy Program explains the primary responsibility of a phlebotomist is collecting blood specimens from patients for the purpose of laboratory analysis. Phlebotomy is one of the most commonly performed medical procedures, so the demand for Phlebotomists is high. MJS College provides the instruction in the collection of blood and other specimens used for diagnostic testing. The individual will complete skills training through classroom and laboratory experience and will be assigned to a clinical site for hands on experience. The Phlebotomy program provides students the training necessary for employment and advancement in the health care field in only 14 weeks.
The Phlebotomy program is a 14 week course that will teach you skills through classroom, lab and clinical experience in the field of phlebotomy.
Requirements for the Phlebotomy program
- Completion of Entrance exam with passing score
- Official High School or GED Transcripts;
- Physical with Immunizations (MMR, DTP, Hep B, Varicella and TB)
- Health Insurance card or signed waiver
- Drug screen (10 panel)
- Criminal Background Check*
- CPR card
Completion of Program
The following items must be completed by the end of the program or after completion of the program:
- 100 of completed venipuncture
- 25 capillary sticks
